Peter and Paul, the D'Alessio Twins

Gist of the Story

The Call of Destiny: Secrets of the Lost Scrolls is a story full of action, buoyancy and good feelings, along with a profound  message  of true spirituality.  Fascinating and relevant present day events are woven into the historical background of the esoteric teachings of Jesus, the formation of the bible, and the development of the Roman Catholic Church, the foundation from which all Christian religions evolved.

The story line revolves around the family of the D'Alessio twins. The D'Alessio family is from old, Italian stock reaching back into the early thirteenth century. After almost 30 years of marriage, Ambrogio and Filomena immigrate from Italy to America to find their fortune. It is here that Filomina gives birth to her miracle child, Maria. Later in their lives, Maria's twin sons, Peter and Paul, come to refer to the trio of wise and loving characters who devotedly raised them, as their guardian angels.  Peter and Paul are like two sides of a coin, nearly identical in appearance, but different in just about every other way, reveling in an affectionate and competitive rivalry.

The story begins with a prophecy concerning these brothers and follows their life journeys. One of them, a humble priest of unending devotion, becomes a great pope, notably the last of the line. He is affectionately referred to as 'L'Eletto da Dio'  (the blessed one of God) and finds himself plunged into stunning assaults on the Papacy which fracture the world’s religious sensibilities. Meanwhile his brother, a skeptical archaeologist, works to translate scrolls hidden away for nearly 2000 years within the shadowy depths of the Vatican Library. Lost teachings from these ancient scrolls are harbingers of a spiritual renewal for a world at odds with itself.

The Call of Destiny: Secrets of the Lost Scrolls eventually reveals how the outcome of prophecy greatly affects the faith of humankind and presents the opportunity for a truer spirituality to break free from the captivity of a Church beset by a long and storied history of folly, betrayal, and corruption.

The Call of Destiny: Secrets of the Lost Scrolls is a work of fiction and not intended to be prophetic. The use of names, characters, places, and events are either products of the author's imagination or are used fictitiously. The actual historical facts and personages included herein are used within the framework of the story line to give it a sense of continuity and   cohesiveness.
